History repeats itself endlessly… but for how long?

Declaration:
Veterans reject and condemn:

- The blind conservatism or indifference of those who believe it possible to maintain certain privileges, to freeze economic and social development in its current state.

- The incitement (not the provocation) to violence, hatred, and passions.

- They unanimously agree to cry out to the nation, in these grave times it is going through, that the French, by dividing themselves, are making a mistake and would be guilty of a crime by turning against one another.

- They call for the rallying of all, convinced that France can only be saved through unity, with each person imposing the necessary discipline upon themselves.

Letter from the President of a Veterans' Association:

“My dear Comrades, you must fully grasp the gravity of the situation. Your vote must carry all its weight in the upcoming election. Show yourselves to be men of duty and reflection (…) Declarations of affection, admiration, and promises will abound. To secure the future, look to the past and do not be dazzled by the mirage of words.”

Was this announcement made by the veterans today?

NO! This announcement was made in the aftermath of the Great War, and since then, France has experienced the Second World War, Indochina, Algeria, etc. … History is decidedly and definitively an eternal recurrence!
