Originally from Brazil, he joined the Foreign Legion in 1987 and served until 1992, in the 13th DBLE and the 2nd REP.
After completing his contract, he returned to São Paulo, where he worked as a helicopter pilot.
Mickaël de PRAT
The author, Mickaël de PRAT, served as a contract officer in the Foreign Legion from 1989 to 2003 in the following units: 4th RE, 3rd REI, 1st RE, COMLE, and 2nd REP.
DIEUZE Jean-Marie
The author, Captain (retired) Jean-Marie Dieuze, enlisted as a simple legionnaire in 1983.
After four months of training with the 4th Foreign Regiment, he joined the 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment (2nd REP) in Calvi.
Patented as a parachutist, he was assigned to the 4th Company (Destroyers – Snipers).
Jean-Michel Houssin
completed his national service with the 1st RPIMa (1979-1980), where he graduated as a sergeant. In 1981, he joined the Foreign Legion and first served with the 13th DBLE in Djibouti, before joining the 5th Company of the 2nd REI and participating in his first operational mission in Lebanon (FMSB, 1983).
A specialist in automotive maintenance
Morin Lucien
was born in 1964 in Binic, Côtes-d'Armor. After completing his schooling, he did his military service with the 14th Paratroopers' Regiment (RPCS). Upon returning to civilian life, he enlisted at Fort Nogent, where he served for seven years in the Foreign Legion with the 6th Regiment (REG), the DLEM (Department of Military Personnel), and the 1st Regiment (RE).
PEREZ Y CID Louis
A student at the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg in 1968, he interrupted his studies to enlist in the Foreign Legion.strip C’est la Légion, inspired by true events in the Foreign Legion.
SAGANE
The author, SAGANE, whose real name is Emmanuel SABOURET GARAT de NEDDE, joined the Foreign Legion in 2004. He served in the Cavalary of the Foreign Legion until 2025, with the exception of a posting to the 13th DBLE in Djibouti from 2009 to 2011.
SAVATIER François
A former officer from Saint-Cyr, he served in the Foreign Legion as a foreign officer and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Since then, he has been a wood carver in Mont-Jean-sur-Loire (Maine et Loire, France).

Of Hungarian origin, he arrived in France in 1982 to enlist in the Foreign Legion at the age of 18.
