For our elders
The LÉGION'ARTS association website officially opens today.
Légion’Arts Éditions specializes in the creation, promotion, and distribution of books, comics, and graphic novels dedicated to the Foreign Legion.
The association also supports the promotion and sale of works of art (paintings, sculptures, photography) created by former legionnaires or their families.
It also gives a voice to the elders through the "Regards d’Anciens" (Old Legion Views) section, which addresses various themes related to the Legion.
This adventure was born from the desire of a team of former members of the Foreign Legion, eager to provide a well-researched and sensitive perspective on our institution, its history, as well as on culture and art in general.
The Founding Team
• Antoine Marquet: scholar, former editor-in-chief of the magazine Képi Blanc.
• Christian Morisot: writer, former director of the Foreign Legion's Institution for the Invalids in Puyloubier and the Maison du Légionnaire in Auriol. He is well acquainted with "the legionnaire's blues."
• Clément Ragot: outstanding documentalist, probably the greatest current expert on the history of the Legion. For over thirty years, he has assembled an impressive collection of books and documents. His memory is legendary.
• Isabelle Maury: painter in the Army. In addition to her art, she brings a unique perspective as the wife of a legionnaire, widow of Colonel Xavier Lantéres.
• Michel Gravereau: former member of the Legion who became an astronomy specialist, lecturer, and founding president of the association Ciel mon ami. He now shares his knowledge and passion with us.
• András-Adrian Toth: multi-talented artist (drawing, caricature, animation, web design). He colored the comic strip "C'est la Légion," our first publication, and designed this website and its online store. We extend our special thanks to him: without him, this project would never have seen the light of day. If you're looking for an efficient and approachable webmaster, consider him!
• Ingrid Baudry: A nurse and daughter of a Legionnaire, she shares her experience as a child growing up in the Legion's universe, in France, overseas, and abroad.
• Louis Perez y Cid: Painter and comic book illustrator. After leaving the uniform, he directed the Legion's ceramics workshop in Puyloubier for over twenty years.
And tomorrow...
Other authors and artists are interested in joining Légion'Arts. Their projects have not yet materialized, so we will have the pleasure of presenting them later.
